Do not expect this is a simple rental. They will ask extensive questions based on your boating experience. Had to take a ferry to get there just to be rejected. Next time just tell me on the phone instead of wasting my time and money captain bob.
Rented from Captain Bob last year. Talked to Bob several times before renting as we were waiting for a calm day which Bob was more than happy to work with us on. Started our rental going over a float plan, which Bob goes over in detail. We talked about where we wanted to go, Michigan island, Stockton island, and Long island. Bob suggested routes using google earth showing us areas to avoid and which side of island to take given the weather. He also described what to do if we had trouble. I was very happy with the experience and knowledge I gained and will be using him again.
Captain Bob was great. We used him a few summers ago and he was super accommodating. He let us keep the boat as long as we wanted (we watched the sunset) and told us some great places to go. Prices were affordable too! As other users complained, there are questions about boating experience, but it makes sense. Superior is a big lake, and things change, so it helps to have some knowledge of what you are doing.
