Last year my boyfriend and I took a trip up to the North Woods in Wisconsin. One of our stops was the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. We took a kayaking trip with Adventure Vacations to explore the sea caves; it was an incredible experience for us. We found that as outsiders from Chicago with not much kayaking experience, it was easier and safer to head out to explore with a guide. John took us on a wonderful tour of the caves and had lots of insights on the region and the surrounding environment. He seemed very flexible and was willing to customize the trip to our needs (he was willing to take us to the further islands and to take us to the underwater shipwrecks). We liked the small group environment and felt like we could explore at our own pace. After we returned to Chicago, John emailed us some photos he took of us which was a nice bonus =)
We had a great tour of several of the apostle islands, got to paddle some caves and toured a lighthouse. Perfect!
